Don't forget to bring your own braille writer and
a book to exchange at the braille book exchange!!
If you are unable to access
or output computer files, hard copy braille sample
contests can be sent to students, parents or teachers by request.

This fun day will include snacks, lunch, t-shirts and
awards.
Remember, all teachers who have students participating at the Braille
Challenge will be entered in a drawing for a nice prize.
Braille Book Exchange
Don't forget that we will also have a Braille Book Exchange as part
of the Braille Challenge. If you have Braille books that you have read or
are uninterested in, bring them for the Book Exchange. Then you can
exchange them for other books that have been donated! Or, just come
and pick out a new book to read.
Braille Challenge Book Club
Our Book Club is continuing and you are not too late to join.
Complete Braille reading minutes each month and receive a reading reward.
Then you can be entered into the drawing for a prize that will be presented
during lunch at the Braille Challenge on March 6, 2009. Contact Merrilee Petersen or go to www.ufbvi.org to get information.
Braille Challenge Joke Contest
Now is your chance to write jokes or riddles related to Braille.
They need to be original jokes and they MUST be submitted in Braille. Students
can enter up to three jokes each. Teachers and others are also welcome to send
entries.
Examples might be things like: "What did dot 2 say to the 'ow' contraction?" or "Knock knock. Who's there?
Dots 5, 6 n. Dots 5, 6 n who? ...." braille.
We will give out prizes at the Braille Challenge on March 6th. The jokes need
to be Brailled with a writer or slate and stylus and
student's name and contact information should also be included. Mail the
entries to:
