Athletics

USDB is looking for volunteers to coach the following teams during the 2010-2011 school year;  Girls Volleyball, Boys & Girls Cross-Country, Boys Basketball, Girls Basketball, Boys & Girls Track.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following.

1. Hold team tryouts.
2. Attend all practices and games.
3. Ability to work afternoons and evenings, and travel to various sites to attend games.
4. Comply with the rules and regulations of the Utah High School Athletic Association (UHSAA).
5. Communicate to all participants the policies of the UHSAA and USDB.
6. Plan, organize, and implement the teaching of fundamentals, strategies, rules , and proper conditioning in the assigned sport.
7. Provide an atmosphere conducive to good sportsmanship.
8. Ensure that adequate supervision is provided for all students involved in the sport.
9. Issue, collect, and inventory equipment.
10. Perform other related duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.

We are hoping to assign a volunteer coach and assistant coach for each team. All teams are subject to student interest, and will be dropped if there are not enough players at tryout. Coaches are expected to travel with players for any out of state tournaments or events.

Academic Bowl – May 20 & 27

Cheerleading – May 27 & 28

Girls Volleyball – August 9

Cross Country – August 1

Girls Basketball – November 8

Boys Basketball – November 8

Track – March 31
