JOB SUMMARY Acts as instructor, in lieu of regular
instructor, to deaf/hard-of-hearing and/or visually impaired students in
various education areas; implements lesson plans as outlined by regular
instructor, utilizing appropriate materials; maintains standards of student
behavior and attitude needed to provide an orderly, productive classroom
environment; performs other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS Some positions have strenuous physical
requirements, as assisting disabled students is an essential function of these
positions (must be able to lift and carry up to 75 pounds). Some positions require sign language
skills. Preference will be given
to qualified deaf/hard-of-hearing and/or blind/visually impaired candidates. Successful completion of criminal background
check is required for these positions.
SALARY AND BENEFITS $68.00 per day to $102.00 per day, depending
on qualifications.
Benefits will be limited to Social Security. These positions are exempted by law from the
provisions of competitive career service.
The
State requires employees to receive their pay through Direct Deposit or EPPICard.
ASSIGNMENT PERIOD These positions are
Aon-call@ only, Monday through
Friday for up to 7-1/2 (seven-and-one-half) hours per day for nine months
during each school year.
