Speech-Language Therapists/Pathologists provide screening, identification, assessment, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up care for disorders of speech (including articulation, fluency and voice), language (including phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics and pragmatics), and oral functions (including Apraxia and other orofacial myofunctional disorders). Speech-language pathologists provide intervention in the social and cognitive aspects of communication, as well as training, consultation and support to health care providers, educators, family members and other communication partners of individuals with speech, language, voice and communication disabilities. Speech-language pathologists are also involved in developing and establishing effective augmentative and alternative communication techniques and strategies for students.
