Audiology

The audiology staff provides consultation services to parents and teachers of children with hearing impairments from birth through 21 years of age.  Audiological services are provided at the USDB facilities in Ogden and Salt Lake City.  The audiologists also utilize a mobile testing unit and other testing facilities throughout the state.  The audiologists perform comprehensive behavioral hearing evaluations to determine auditory function.  Students' personal hearing aids are monitored and analyzed to ensure that they are providing appropriate benefit.  Loaner hearing aids may be available on a short term trial basis.  The audiologists at USDB collaborate with districts, agencies, and other professionals throughout the state to ensure that children with hearing impairments have access to appropriate services and support.
