Deaf-Blind Awareness Week

USDB faculty members with Utah Governor

Erin Farrer, Ramona Rice, Steve Winn, and Laura Benge with Governor Gary Herbert.

Governor Gary Herbert declared the last week of June the Hellen Keller Deaf-Blind Awareness week.

USDB’s Susan Patten says, “We are definitely moving forward with educating politicians and the public on deaf-blindness.  Other states are struggling with how to educate leadership and lawmakers in the importance of services for students with deaf-blindness. Here in Utah we are having discussions with the Governor. I’m so proud of the work we are doing!”
