Assistive Technology is in the law
What is the Assistive Technology Act?
The Assistive Technology Act of 2004 (AT Act) is a federal law designed to maximize the ability of people with disabilities to select, obtain, and use assistive technology.
What exactly is Assistive Technology? Assistive Technology (AT) is any item, device, or piece of equipment used to maintain or improve the independence and function of people with disabilities and seniors, in education, employment, recreation, and daily living activities.
The Assistive Technology team is made up of specialists who can help consult, instruct, problem solve, and build solutions that range from no tech interventions all the way to the most cutting edge devices. These services are provided in order to help educators around the state of Utah serve students with visual impairments. Our team is happy to serve students in all districts, schools, and families across the state, regardless of which school serves the student.
