Mission

USD Online provides individualized learning pathways for deaf/hard-of-hearing students.  Our pathways offer: 
  • Flexibility for students to choose asynchronous or synchronous learning. 
  • Access to technology and resources that meet the unique learning styles of Deaf and Hard of Hearing students.
  • Regular contact with online teachers and staff to support students academic and language development.

Enrollment

Eligibility Requirements and Expectations

Requirements: 

  • Reside in the state of Utah
  • Have a documented hearing loss
  • Have regular, reliable computer and internet access

Expectations: 

  • Remain in the program for the full session
  • Follow expectations for attendance and time commitments
  • Meet with your online mentor/aide weekly
  • Communicate any concerns to the staff (teachers, counselor, administrator, etc….)

USDB Campus Student

This is for students that:

  • already attend KBS, JMS, or EDS programs.
  • already have an account in PowerSchool

Registration

Active Participation is required to remain in courses. (Student must log in and make progress at least every 10 days).

New Non-Campus Student

This is for students that:

  • attend a local district or charter school program.
  • have not created a SEATS registration account on the State Online Education Program website. 

Registration

For issues relating to SEATS registration or the SEATS website, please contact Kimberly Howard at 801-538-7826. kimberly.howard@schools.utah.gov

AFTER you have completed your SEATS application, complete your registration by clicking on the “Final Step” button.

Final Step

Active Participation is required to remain in courses. (Student must log in and make progress at least every 10 days).

Non-Campus Student with SEATS

This is for students that:

  • attend a local district or charter school program.
  • have taken Online Courses through the State Online Education Program SEATS.

Registration

Use your SEATS account to request courses through USD Online.
